While physical labor may be less prevalent among the affluent, they often rely on tranquilizers and sleep aids to cope with stress. In contrast, a laborer, after eight hours of physical work, achieves natural, restorative sleep. True peace of mind and contentment are elusive, manifesting as either physical or mental strain for everyone.

True piety (taqwa) isn't about outward appearances or rituals, but an internal state of consciousness and unwavering faith. It’s a complete immersion of one's personality in the principles of divine guidance. Genuine piety manifests as a consistent effort to please God and avoid disobedience, permeating the entire being with a distinct spiritual color. It resides in the heart and is intrinsically linked to faith. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) repeatedly pointed to his chest to emphasize that piety dwells within the heart, not in external displays.

These two are inextricably linked; a person’s beliefs and ideas manifest in their actions, ethics, and dealings. Correct action stems from sound thinking; flawed foundations lead to flawed outcomes. Limited thought results in limited action and character. A skewed initial approach inevitably leads to a distorted final result.
