Surah Al-Ikhlas affirms the absolute oneness of Allah, emphasizing His unique and self-sufficient nature. The chapter establishes that Allah is Al-Samad – the eternal, independent being upon whom all creation depends, yet He depends on none. This Surah negates any concept of parentage or offspring for Allah, asserting that He is beyond human comprehension and comparison. The verses refute beliefs attributing partners or progeny to God, countering historical deviations that assigned daughters to divine beings or designated individuals as sons of God. It highlights that Allah’s existence is not contingent upon anything created, but rather all of creation is sustained by Him. The concept of ‘Al-Hayy Al-Qayyum’ signifies that Allah is eternally living and the sustainer of all existence, and nothing is equal or comparable to Him in any way.
