This narrative recounts the brutal torture inflicted upon Hazrat Samia and Hazrat Yasir, early converts to Islam, by Abu Jahl. Abu Jahl offered to spare Hazrat Samia's life if she acknowledged the divinity of an idol, but she spat at it, intensifying his wrath. The account highlights their unwavering commitment to Islam in the face of extreme adversity and the prophetic announcement of their eventual reward in paradise, delivered by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

A genuine connection with God is fostered by inner reflection and the unwavering belief that God will never abandon those who turn to Him sincerely.
The Quraysh delegation arrived to Abu Talib during his final moments, issuing an ultimatum: control Muhammad or face open conflict. They didn’t seek wealth, power, or possessions, but demanded Muhammad cease his proclamation of One God. Abu Jahl immediately recognized the core issue – this message threatened the foundations of their entire belief system and the idols they worshipped. The text details the events of the Battle of Karbala. Twenty families from the Banu Hashim clan fought bravely alongside Imam Hussain, sacrificing their lives. The battle saw intense fighting, with many from the Banu Hashim martyred. A young child of Imam Hussain was also among the martyrs. All male members of Imam Hussain's household were killed except for his son, Ali Zayn al-Abidin, who was ill and unable to participate. This occurred in 61 AH, exactly fifty years after the passing of the Prophet Muhammad.
The name Ramadan originates from the intense heat that once prevailed in Arabia, causing hardship and even death. People perceived this time as one where purification occurred naturally. The month of Ramadan was thus associated with cleansing and seen as a period where accumulated impurities within the human body were naturally eliminated. The practice of fasting was ordained by God to facilitate this process. Another interpretation connects the name Ramadan to one of God’s names, signifying ‘the month of God.’ This is supported by a tradition of the Prophet Muhammad, who identified Sha’ban as his month and Ramadan as God’s month.

True *talaawat*, however, involves making the Quran one’s leader, adhering to its principles, and seeking its light. This entails complete submission and following its path, as expressed in the prayer for the Quran to be an Imam, a source of light, guidance, and mercy.
