Hazrat Umar Farooq established a land system where conquered territories weren't individually owned, but held in common trust by the Muslim community. Revenue generated from this land was designated for the welfare of Muslims, both contemporary and future generations. Those working the land, regardless of religion, were required to pay land revenue. This revenue-generating status of the land would remain perpetual, even under non-Muslim rule, and revert to its original status upon regaining independence.
This lecture explores the profound meaning of ‘La Ilaha Illallah’ (There is no god but Allah) and its connection to genuine faith. It clarifies that merely reciting Arabic phrases is insufficient; true belief originates from a deep, internal conviction. True *zikr* requires focused attention and presence; if the mind is preoccupied with worldly concerns while reciting, the benefit of remembrance is lost. The act itself is a tool; the connection with God is the essence.
This lecture details the immense sacrifices parents make, particularly mothers, during pregnancy and early childhood. It highlights the physical and emotional burdens mothers endure, from carrying the child in the womb for nine months to nurturing and feeding them for two years. The text emphasizes the profound debt of gratitude children owe their parents, both for their care and as a reminder of our ultimate return to God, mirroring the parent-child relationship. True piety isn't demonstrated through outward acts of worship directed towards the east or west. Genuine goodness lies in sincere belief in God, the Day of Judgment, angels, scriptures, and prophets. Actions must be performed solely for the pleasure of God and the reward in the afterlife. Deeds motivated by worldly gain are mere transactions, not acts of piety. A firm faith in God and the afterlife is essential for any act to be considered truly virtuous; otherwise, it is a superficial facade, like gold plating over brass, easily stripped away. Actions lacking sincere intention are temporary and hold no lasting value.
This lecture details the performance of Eid al-Fitr prayers, specifically the additional *takbirat* (proclamations of greatness).
