The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once asked his companions about bankruptcy. They defined it as a lack of wealth. The Prophet corrected them, stating the true bankrupt in his nation will be the one who comes with a large number of prayers, fasts, and pilgrimages, but also with the burdens of having wronged others – having insulted someone, unjustly taken their wealth, or falsely accused them. On the Day of Judgment, these wronged individuals will present their claims, depleting the bankrupt’s good deeds. If the deeds are insufficient, their sins will be transferred to them, leading to their destruction in Hell. This is the true meaning of bankruptcy – a spiritual and moral deficiency.

Dr. Israr Ahmad warns of a time when the Muslim community will be left with only the name of Islam, and the Quran will be reduced to its calligraphy and letters. He emphasizes a divine guarantee for the preservation of the Uthmani script. He predicts a proliferation of mosques that are devoid of guidance, and describes scholars who will be the worst of people, fostering discord and conflict. These scholars will be the source and destination of fitna (discord), promoting sectarianism and exacerbating differences among Muslims. He observes that a vast majority of contemporary religious leaders exhibit these characteristics.

Consistent recitation and revision are crucial for long-term retention. Many who claim to have memorized the entire Quran struggle to recall it throughout the year, requiring frequent re-memorization. He highlights that consistent practice is more valuable than merely claiming complete memorization, even if one is unable to perform regular prayers.

This lecture details the signs and characteristics of the Dajjal, a figure in Islamic eschatology. It describes his immense power, including the ability to resurrect the dead, manipulate perceptions, control weather, and traverse vast distances instantaneously. The Dajjal will claim divinity and perform miracles, attracting followers through illusions and false promises. He will possess complete dominion over the universe and demonstrate his power by splitting a person in two and then restoring them. This bayān explains these prophecies as detailed in hadith.

The Quran states that true believers possess an intense love for God. This love surpasses all other affections, even those for family. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized that complete faith is unattainable unless he is more beloved to a person than their father, son, or all of humanity. This love is not merely an emotion but is manifested through obedience. However, obedience becomes true worship only when performed with a sincere and passionate devotion to God, driven by the spirit of divine love. It is the inner feeling of love that transforms acts of worship into a meaningful connection with the Divine.

The history of Islam and Muslims reveals a pattern of rise and decline. Initially unified, Islam flourished during the Rashidun Caliphate. Post-Caliphate, while Islam experienced decline, Muslim power continued to ascend, reaching its peak. Subsequently, Muslims also faced decline, followed by a resurgence. The Tartars, despite inflicting immense casualties on Muslims, ultimately converted to Islam and became its champions. Successive Turkic dynasties—Timurids in India, Safavids in Iran, Seljuks in the Middle East, and Ottomans—led Islamic power for centuries. The Ottoman Caliphate held prominence for four hundred years, before ultimately declining after World War I.
